About The Blyssful Witch

A brief bio about myself and my path:

I am from northern New Mexico in the southwestern United States. In Spanish, it is called ‘La Tierra de Encanto’ the ‘land of enchantment’, with a diverse history of Native American, Spanish and Mexican culture and religion.

My father, born and raised in southern New Mexico, was taught by Mexican curanderas and passed on what he learned to me. My mother and grandmother were involved in American Folk Magic. My path is diverse, yet heavily rooted in animism, spiritualism and the Divine.

I do not claim to know all, nor do I believe that others do. The Way is one of continual learning, self-exploration and experimentation.

I do not hold to the ‘black or white’ magic belief system. I am not ‘left or right’ hand path. The Energy given by the Mother is neutral. We, as individuals and collectively, direct and guide that Energy. I do not ascribe to karmic law, to Divine retribution or to ‘harm none’. I use the Energy the Mother provides for whatever my purposes require and my promptings dictate. I do not harm unless harmed, nor do I interfere in the affairs of others without cause.

I am a dark Pagan. I embrace the Shadow as well as the Light and all the shades of grey that lie between. I am a traditional worker of the Old Ways, with an emphasis on communing with Deity and Spirits, as well as creative self-expression and individuality in practice and ritual.

I reclaim the darkness and use it when necessary, honouring the polarity between positive and negative in my workings and rituals. I hold life and death equally sacred and recognize that all must be in balance. There are constructive and destructive forces that abide in Nature, in our Spirits and in our Lives. Both are to be honoured and both are to be experienced.

In truth, Dark Paganism cannot really defined. It must be experienced, for the more you think you can define it, the further from the Source you stray.

My way is solitary; my feet firmly planted on the foundations of my Ancestors and my own deeply-held animistic, polytheistic, panenthestic beliefs.

This website will reflect those beliefs; the trials and errors of Crafting, the passion and desire for Magic, for Spirit, for Wisdom, self-empowerment and self-knowledge.

May She who gives life and takes it, be forever praised and honoured and may that devotion begin here.
